Company Days
The Company Days is an event the External Committee hosts yearly to allow companies to reach older Bachelor, master and PhD students and for the students to orientate which direction they would like to go after graduating. Besides this, companies can take on-campus interviews with our graduate students that are looking for a job. This is both for the company and the student an easy way to come in contact with companies from all over the world.
During the Company days, companies from all the fields of Applied Earth Sciences visit our faculty at the TU Delft to give presentations for our students. The presentations are followed by a social event, such as a buffet, lunch or drinks, to allow for informal contact. These company visits are an ideal moment to get in contact with our students.
The Company Days take place during the first two weeks of December. The Company Days are free to attend for all MV members. The Company Days are completely organized by the External Committee.
For questions or more information, please feel free to contact the External Committee via: Extern-MV@tudelft.nl.
The External Committee
The External Committee doesn’t only organize the Company Days, but also another event for students and companies. The goal of the committee is to bring students and companies in contact with each other in an informal way. This activity will take place in the third quarter of the year and can for example be a company dinner or case study at a company. What the activity is will be decided by the External Committee and will be announced closer to the event. So keep an eye on the website, facebook and Instagram!
International Symposium
Once every five years, the MV organizes a ‘Lustrum’, a week-long event to celebrate the association’s five-year anniversary. An International Symposium is the most important part of the lustrum week, together with a gala, a reunion dinner for alumni, excursions, and an open party. Every 2.5 years after the Lustrum, a Half Lustrum is organized. At the very least, this week contains an International Symposium, a gala and a reunion dinner of the same caliber as the lustrum. The 25th Lustrum took place in November 2017 and it was a great success!
Companies or people with an interest in the theme of the symposium could be speakers at this very symposium. During the day, speakers, companies and visitors have the possibility to speak to each other over lunch or drinks.
Lectures
Lectures are organized by the MV as an afternoon program or a lunch program. Subjects that are discussed during such a lecture include current affairs, non-technical aspects of the field of study, or interesting historical subjects. All MV members can participate in these lectures for free.
