The Mijnbouwkundige Vereeniging was established 132.5 years ago in Delft; to commemorate this, the 12th half-lustrum week will take place in February 2025. Like our previous lustra, the celebration of the half-lustrum will be celebrated with a week full of social and professional events such as a Symposium, AlumNight, and a Gala. The 12th Half-Lustrum Lustrum Committee is excited to announce that the theme of this week will be:
Under Pressure – Reshaping Our Future
This theme alludes to the pressure experienced by all members of society to safeguard our future. Engineers, academics, politicians, and company executives alike are faced with the challenges of the energy transition and rapidly changing global contexts. With its roots in mining engineering, the Mijnbouwkundige Vereeniging is seeking to accommodate the new breadth of the Applied Earth Sciences study, and hopes to impart a renewed sense of inspiration, excitement, and curiosity on the future drivers of the energy transition through its forthcoming half-lustrum week.
